Gary Lee to offer Garden Club talk

The monthly meeting of the Old Forge Garden Club will be held on Tuesday, December 2 at 10 a.m. at Lakeside Terrace in Old Forge.

Special guest Gary Lee will present a program on Adirondack orchids and share pictures of the flowers he found around the area.

All are welcome to join members at this Christmas event.

Old Forge Garden Club plans field trip

The Old Forge Garden Club will be taking a field visit to Hrobonis Greenhouse in West Leyden on Tuesday, June 10th. The trip will include a stop at Millcreek Nursery in Boonville and lunch at the Boonville Hotel.

Anyone interested in joining club members on the trip is asked to meet at View at 9 a.m. to car pool.

Old Forge Garden Club to meet at View on May 13th

The Old Forge Garden Club will hold its first meeting of the season at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13 at VIEW.

Judy Dezalia, master gardener from Cornell Cooperative Extension, will present a program, Day Lilies from A to Z. Following the program, a business meeting will be held.

The Garden Club meets the second Tuesday of each month for either a program at View or a field visit.

All are invited to come and share information on gardening in a relaxed setting.

There is no need to call ahead, just show up.

Garden Club hosts Lakeside Terrace Holiday Party

The Old Forge Garden Club sponsored their annual Holiday Party for the residents at the Lakeside Terrace in Old Forge on Tuesday, December 3rd.

Garden Club members in attendance brought platefuls of homemade cookies to share with the 24 residents who were also gifted poinsettia plants from Feather and Boughs.

Mitch Lee of Inlet provided entertainment by telling Adirondack stories which created memories of days gone by and laughter by all at the event.

Garden talk set

Members of the Old Forge Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, October 8 at 10 a.m. at View. Special guest will be Bruce Mero, a master gardener from Cornell Cooperative Extension who will give a presentation on “Shade Gardening with Natives.”

The presentation is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Garden Club sets plant sale

Members of the Old Forge Garden Club will be conducting a plant sale at the Old Forge Farmers’ Market on Friday, September 13th. Plants, seeds and shrubs will be available for sale at great prices. Proceeds of the sale will help fund the purchase of plants for spring planting at Point Park.

The market is located on Park Avenue, behind Old Forge Hard-ware, and is open from 1 to 5 p.m.
