School of the Old Forge Ballet Co. offering Boonville classes

The School of the Old Forge Ballet Co., Inc. will be offering Classical Ballet classes this summer at the AMC Kenpo Karate Studio at 133 Main St. in Boonville.

Registration is currently underway, however a registration day has been set for Saturday, June 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Boonville studio.

English Standards Pre-Ballet, Cecchetti Graded Syllabus, Pre-Professional-Advanced and Adult Ballet are offered for male and female beginners and students with previous training in classical ballet.   Continue reading

Winter/Spring registration opens at the Old Forge Ballet Company

The School of the Old Forge Ballet Company announces Winter/Spring registration for new classes for beginners and students with previous training in Musical Theatre-Tap & Jazz, Ballroom, Introduction to Ballet and Children’s Ballet and Tap.

Regular ongoing classes also have room for new students. Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Lower Level Company Ballet Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and Upper Level Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Pri-Primary Ballet for children ages three and four is held on Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m.  Continue reading

Nutcracker: Old Forge Ballet Company

The Old Forge Ballet Company will present its annual production of The Nutcracker at the Strand Theatre on Saturday, December 7, and Artistic Director Sue Ann Lorenz-Wallace, has announced this year’s cast which includes company members who have performed for the past 20 years along with some new faces.

The complete cast of 35 includes performers representing the communities of Eagle Bay, Inlet, Old Forge, Thendara, Woodgate, Boonville and Forestport.

Laurie Waranis, a teacher at the ballet company, will return to her role as Frau Stahlbaum with Clint Otto returning as Herr Stahlbaum.

Portraying their daughter Clara in the matinee performance is Kerissa Dunn, with Alison Russell in the role for the evening performance.  Continue reading
