Old Forge Ballet announces cast for upcoming Nutcracker

Sue Ann Lorenz-Wallace, Artistic Director and Linda Lorenz LaDue, Associate Artistic Director of the Old Forge Ballet Company have announced the cast for the Company’s annual “Nutcracker” ballet.

Kerissa Dunn to reprise Clara role for Nutcracker 2014

Old Forge Ballet Co. has chosen nine-year-old Kerissa Dunn to do an encore performance as Clara in the company’s production of the “Nutcracker” ballet on Saturday, December 6.

Kerissa is a fourth grade student at the Town of Webb Schools. She enjoys sports along with ballet and is an active nordic skier and nordic biathlon athlete who also loves soccer.

She has danced many roles in the “Nutcracker” since starting her ballet training at age 3. This will be her sixth performance in the ballet. Continue reading

Casting call for Old Forge Ballet’s 2014 Nutcracker performance

Nutcracker: Old Forge Ballet Company

The Old Forge Ballet Company will present its annual production of The Nutcracker at the Strand Theatre on Saturday, December 7, and Artistic Director Sue Ann Lorenz-Wallace, has announced this year’s cast which includes company members who have performed for the past 20 years along with some new faces.

The complete cast of 35 includes performers representing the communities of Eagle Bay, Inlet, Old Forge, Thendara, Woodgate, Boonville and Forestport.

Laurie Waranis, a teacher at the ballet company, will return to her role as Frau Stahlbaum with Clint Otto returning as Herr Stahlbaum.

Portraying their daughter Clara in the matinee performance is Kerissa Dunn, with Alison Russell in the role for the evening performance.  Continue reading

Free Nutcracker tickets available for children

Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free to the 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances of The Old Forge Ballet Co.’s production of The Nutcracker ballet on Saturday, December 7.

The opportunity is made possible through the generosity of Friends of the Old Forge Ballet Company, said Ballet School Director Sue Ann Lorenz Wallace, who feel it is important to make the cultural event available to more young people in the community. Continue reading

Two chosen for Clara role in upcoming Nutcracker performance at Strand

Old Forge Ballet Co. students Kerissa Dunn and Alison Russell have been selected for the role of Clara in the company’s production of the Nutcracker ballet that will be performed at the Strand Theatre in Old Forge on Saturday, December 7th.

Eight-year-old Kerissa will portray Clara in the 2 p.m. narrated matinee and Alison, 10, will dance the role at the 7 p.m. performance.

This will be Kerissa’s fifth performance of the ballet.

A third grade student at the Town of Webb School, she enjoys sports as well as ballet.

She has danced many roles in the Nutcracker since beginning her ballet training at the age of three.  Continue reading
