Wanted: Return of stolen trail camera at Moss Lake

by Gary Lee

The trail camera on the loon nest at Moss Lake was stolen sometime over the weekend of July 17, 18 and 19.

This camera belongs to BRI’s Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation, which works on limited funding. The camera was collecting data on the loon nest at Moss Lake to determine why this nest fails each year. Only a human could have cut the cable to take the camera which was mounted very close the nest. A dead chick was found in the nest…its death likely caused by this intrusion.

If anyone has Information about anyone who may have been on the island at Moss Lake over the weekend, please contact me at (315) 357-5150 or the Inlet Police at 357-5091. If you were the one who took the locked camera please leave it at the Inlet Information Office.
