Inlet: A Ping Pong Ball Drop Thank You

The Town of Inlet and the Inlet Youth Commission would like to thank everyone who was involved in making our 38th Annual Ping Pong Ball Drop held on July 4 an exciting day for all.

The 800-plus children who attended this event were each able to collect three ping pong balls that they traded in for prizes donated by the Inlet Youth Commission and area businesses.

Prizes included gift certificates, prizes, drinks, snacks and novelty toys. Attached to each novelty toy was a coupon for a free donut at The Donut Shop in Eagle Bay.  Continue reading

Inlet Historical Society to host a program on Keith’s Diner, July 16

The Inlet Historical Society will present a program, Keith’s Diner Remembered, at the Inlet Town Hall on Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m.

Find out about invasive plant species at Old Forge, Inlet events

Invasive Species Week in New York state runs from July 12 to 18 this year. The Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP), in collaboration with DEC, will again be hosting events across the Park to raise awareness of invasive species and to assist landowners with control, management and eradication efforts.

CAP-21 and the Old Forge Farmers’ Market will host an Ask-An-Expert booth during  the Market on Friday, July 17 from 1 to 5 p.m.  Continue reading

Karen Savoca Duo to perform in Inlet

Karen Savoca and Pete Heitzman will perform during Inlet’s “Sunsets by the Lake” Summer Concert Series on Saturday, July 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Arrowhead Lakefront.

All are invited to bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy the free concert and a spectacular sunset.

Inlet’s weekend bus service now operating

The S.S. Minnow, Inlet’s free nighttime bus service that makes stops between Daiker’s and Seventh Lake House is in operation from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the summer.

Anyone in need of a safe ride home can call (315) 281-6533.

The service is made possible by Penny Stuart and the Town of Inlet and is sponsored by Matt’s Draft House, The Tavern, and Sunset Beach Cottages
