On Saturday, November 21, 2015, an informative and supportive lung cancer vigil was held in the Inlet Town Hall. Adele Burnett, whose father died of lung cancer, and myself, whose brother also died of lung cancer, organized the small gathering which was one of hundreds held around the United States and a few in foreign countries.
The welcoming vigil was followed by a blessing of those in attendance by Rev. Lawrence Bartel of Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church. Continue reading

Adirondack Christmas on Main Street was a fun and successful event in Inlet over the weekend of November 27, 28 and 29th! Businesses and specialty vendors provided unique shopping experiences throughout the weekend.
French Louie played Christmas music all weekend over the PA system that was heard through town.
Many letters to Santa were left in the special mailbox at the Inlet Town Hall. Santa himself will answer each letter that includes a return address. Continue reading

Suttons Bay, Michigan was the site of a September 5th attempt at wresting a Guinness world record from the Town of Inlet, which set the record in 2014 by assembling 3,150 canoes and kayaks in a single, free-floating-raft formation.
Suttons Bay had held the record at one time and last weekend’s Floatilla sought to regain their crown. Continue reading
As the Town of Inlet readies the next phase of its Arrowhead Park waterfront revitalization project, it is still taking input as to “scope and need” of certain alterations that have been planned, according to Supervisor John Frey.
Specifically, the focus has been put on limiting planned tree removals to the bare minimum, he said.
In particular, some in the community have been stating the case in defense of a majestic white pine that had been marked for removal. Continue reading
Cycle Adirondacks will pedal into Old Forge on Wednesday, Aug-ust 26 with over 200 cyclists and a support crew who will be headquartered at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street.
Old Forge is the only two-day layover town on this seven-day tour which starts and ends in Saranac Lake.
The group will arrive Wednesday afternoon and will depart the morning of Friday, August 28. Continue reading
The Cousins that Care are planning their third annual 5k run/walk to raise funds for their charitable work giving to families in need, charities and scholarships.

The Inlet Volunteer Emergency Services organization is again hosting the Gary Rudd Memorial Tournament. The tournament is open to 36 four-person teams.
The proceeds from the tournament help provide emergency services for the Inlet/Eagle Bay area. This includes fire protection and emergency medical care through our two ambulances.
Registration forms can be found at the Inlet and Old Forge Information Centers and both the Inlet and Thendara Golf Courses, as well as the Inlet Emergency Services station on Limekiln Road. Continue reading
