CAP-21 has kicked off the campaign for its 5th annual CAPPY DUCK Derby. This year’s event is scheduled for September 6, the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, at 12:15.
Once again there are 13 Lucky Duck prizes including a chance to win $100,000 sponsored by OddsOn Promotions.
If no one hits the $100,000 jackpot, that special Lucky Duck will attend a Billy Joel concert live at Madison Square Garden. Continue reading
The rainy day on Sunday, August 31 may have sent some visitors home earlier, but it did not deter the 2850-plus ducks that made their annual migration down the Moose River at the 4th annual CAPPY Duck Derby.

The event was a success, mostly due to all the volunteers who pitched in to make it work.
CAP-21 would like to express its appreciation to our wonderful duck volunteers, particularly Tim and Patty Foley, Sandy Booton, Mike Farmer and Martha Denio; to Ed Booton and Mike Cunningham for their finish line work with the CAPPY Duck Plucker; to the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the Town of Webb Highway Department for their Duck Dumper, the Town of Webb Police Department; the Amy Lynn Duo for the inspirational duck music, and to all the CAPPY Round Up Kids who pitched in to corral the little runaways. CAP-21 beefed up their duck adoption numbers for the upcoming CAP-PY Duck Derby with a Soak-A-Duck event at Old Forge’s Point Park on Saturday, August 9th.

Duck adopters were given the opportunity to pelt the taunting CAP-PY Duck with water balloons in return for their $5 donation.

CAPPY Ducks are currently available for purchase for the 4th Annual CAP-21 Duck Derby on Sunday, August 31st. Ducks are $5 each or a “Flock of Five” for $20 and can be purchased on-line at www.cap-21.org, at Hemmer Cottage, or at the Town of Webb Information Office.
