The annual meeting for North Woods Community Center was held on Friday, January 27 at the Community Center on Crosby Boulevard in Old Forge.

Fulton Chain of Lakes Assn. hosts 2015 Annual Meeting

The Fulton Chain of Lakes Association (FCLA) held its annual meeting at the Woods Inn on Friday, August 7th.

Herkimer County Sherriff Christopher Farber was on hand and discussed his department’s efforts to patrol the lakes to insure safety on the water.

Mike Schreppel, president of FCLA, discussed the organization’s efforts to protect the waters of the Fulton Chain.  Continue reading

North Woods Community Center held elections for new officers during its annual meeting on Thursday, January 22.

Elected to serve a one-year term on the Board of Directors were: Janice Park, chairman; Timothy Harwood, vice chairman; Wayne Beckingham, Secretary; David Beck, treasurer; Carl Klossner, assistant secretary/treasurer; Brian Morgan and Brenda Dean. Continue reading

Central Adirondack Association gathers for annual meeting

The Central Adirondack Association (CAA) held its annual meeting at the Seventh Lake House Restaurant on Wednesday, January 18.

The meeting was led by President Nick Bankert who provided a summary of the organization’s 2011 activities, partnerships and events, and outlined CAA-sponsored programs and events for 2012.

Chip Kiefer (Marketing and Treasurer), Laurie Barkauskas (Events), and Nick Rose (CAP-21, Economic Development) delivered their respective reports prior to the membership voting positively on the proposed 2012 budget of $310,650. Continue reading

ANCA Annual Meeting to focus on state of Adirondack North Country

The 56th annual meeting of the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) will be held at the Lake Placid Conference Center on Monday, October 3 from 1 to 5 p.m.

During the meeting, ANCA and some of its partners will present an overview of the “State of the Adirondack North Country: Economic and Demographic Changes Since 2000.”

The day will begin with a presentation by Jaison Abel, Senior Economist in the Research and Statistics Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

His presentation will focus on the current economic conditions of upstate New York as well as the economic forces that have shaped the recession and recovery to date, as well as their implications for the region’s economy. Continue reading
