Food Sense: Niccolls taking orders for February program

Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church is taking orders for the Food Sense package for February. Each “unit” costs $15.50. This program is open to all.

There are no eligibility requirements nor is there any obligation to purchase food every month.

The February unit consists of fish fillets, kielbasa, ground turkey, Salisbury steak, cheese Pierogies, fresh diced potatoes, chicken corn chowder, frozen green beans, canned corn, canned peaches and two fresh produce items. Continue reading

VIEW to host 10th Annual Chili Bowl Luncheon on Feb. 20

VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, will host the 10th Annual Chili Bowl Luncheon on Saturday, February 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. VIEW volunteers will serve homemade chili, stews, and soups prepared and donated by local restaurants.

The food that will be served in bowls from the Pottery Studio at VIEW as well as from many artists who deliver their bowls from towns nearby and as far away as Ithaca and Syracuse. This year the potters have made many styles of bowls featuring a variety of surface decorations. Continue reading
