VIEW announces partnership with Fulton Chain Craft Brewery

VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, and the local Fulton Chain Craft Brewery (FCCB) will be working together over the next 10 months on multiple local offerings.

Beginning with VIEW’s 10th Annual Chili Bowl Luncheon on Saturday, February 20, FCCB will be offering samplings of their locally brewed craft beers.

Anyone who attends the Chili Bowl Luncheon will receive complimentary tastings of FCCB’s most popular craft beers. Continue reading

Old Forge: St. Bartholomew’s Food Pantry in need of volunteers

A cut in hours to the Food Pantry at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Old Forge has been prompted by a seasonal loss of volunteers.

Normally open every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. during the month of February, the Pantry will be closed on February 11 and 25.

The hours for the month of March are currently under review pending the interest of new volunteers. Continue reading

Area students challenged to create Community Pride Day shirt design

The Community Pride Day Committee is challenging ninth grade students in the Town of Webb, Long Lake, Indian Lake, and Lake Pleasant School Districts to create a design that will appear on this year’s event t-shirts.

The challenge is for students to create a t-shirt design that illustrates what community pride means to them.  Continue reading

Webb: State Police investigation continues into fatal car accident

State Police in Remsen are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on State Route 28 in the Town of Webb.

The investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, Joshua C. Zbytniewski, age 20, from  New Hartford, NY and his passenger, Seth S. Luscomb, age 20, from New Hartford, NY were traveling south bound on State Route 28 when Zbyntniewski lost control of the vehicle on a curve in the roadway.  Continue reading

Town of Webb Police Department reports law enforcement activity

The Town of Webb Police Department has reported the following recent law enforcement activity.

A Holland Patent man was arrested for a Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on Wednesday, January 20 at 6:40 p.m.

According to the report, an investigation of a motor vehicle accident by New York State Police in Remsen led to the location of the defendant who had an active bench warrant from the Town of Webb Court for failure to appear on a scheduled court date in 2012. Continue reading
