Adks National Exhibition of American Watercolors opens Aug. 7th

The 34th annual Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors at VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, will open with a reception on Friday, August 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The reception is free and open to the public and refreshments and light fare will be served.

This year’s exhibition features 86 works by 81 artists from across the United States and Canada, selected from a pool of over 400 submissions.  Continue reading

Old Forge Garden Club to meet Aug. 11

Members of the Old Forge Garden Club will visit Star Homestead in Woodgate on Tuesday August 11.

Lunch and a business meeting will follow  at Kratzy’s on Route 28 in Forestport.

Anyone interested in carpooling can meet in the parking lot of VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge, at 9:30 a.m.

Webb Property Owners Assn. welcomes all to annual meeting on Saturday, August 8th

Webb Property Owners Association (WPOA) will be holding its annual meeting on Saturday, August 8, at 10 a.m. at Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church in Old Forge.

The meeting was scheduled for convenience, and WPOA’s officers and board of directors are inviting all interested community members to attend.

The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to have input into the future of WPOA and learn about the most recent developments in the association and in Herkimer County government.  Continue reading

Ghost Seekers of CNY to lead Old Forge ‘Frightseeing’ tour

Ghost Seekers of Central New York will conduct a “frightseeing” walking tour of the most haunted locations in Old Forge on Saturday, August 15 as a fundraiser for the Town of Webb Historical Assoc-iation.

The tour begins at 8 p.m. and will take participants to locations of grisly crimes in Old Forge, as described through the historic files of the Goodsell Museum, home of the Webb Historical Association.  Continue reading

Graveside service set for Eri Scott Delmarsh, 66

Eri Scott Delmarsh 66, of Old Forge passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at his home in Old Forge surrounded by his caring and devoted friends.

He was born on March 1, 1949 in Utica a son of the late Guy and Agatha (Drake) Delmarsh. Scott was employed for several years with the Town of Webb DPW. He later accepted a position at the Enchanted Forest in Old Forge, retiring in 2014 after 32 years of dedicated service. Continue reading
