Egg Hunt set April 11th at Arrowhead Park in Inlet

The Inlet Youth Commission will sponsor an Egg Hunt for children up to 12 years old on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at Arrowhead Park.

Bring a bag or basket to collect plastic eggs hidden around the park.

Every child will receive a bag of treats. All are welcome to stay around after the hunt for a chance to win extra prizes and perhaps an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny.

Babysitting Clinic set at Old Forge Library

A four-session Baby-sitting Clinic will be held at the Old Forge Library on  Wednesdays, April 22 and 29 and May 6 and 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The clinic is open to students ages 10 and up who have not previously taken the class.

Teachers Karen Beck and Judy Ehrensbeck will discuss Educational Play at the first session. Continue reading

Webb students compete on Drug Quiz Show

Eight schools from throughout Herkimer County, including Town of Webb UFSD, competed in the Herkimer County Drug Quiz Show that took place at Herkimer County Community College on Thursday, March 19.

Webb Police Dept. reports recent activity

A 36-year-old Johnson City male driver and his passenger, a 46-year-old Glen Aubrey man, were arrested following an incident that occurred in Inlet on Friday, April 3 at 1:04 p.m.

According to the report, both parties were stopped on State Route 28 in the Hamlet of Inlet for consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. The driver was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd, driving a motor vehicle while having 14 suspensions from multiple courts, and Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.

He was arraigned before the Hon. M. Marleau and remanded to the Hamilton County jail in lieu of $600 bail.

The passenger was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. He was released on appearance tickets for ulawful possession of marijuana returnable April 21, 2015 in the Town of Inlet Court.

Town Supervisor Parker Snead reports on local gov’t happenings

While your Town Board was able to cut the 2015 budget about $127,000 from 2014, there is work to be done to avoid adding a town tax.

Even though we spent about $57,000 less in 2014 than in 2013, we still spent about $67,000 more than we brought in. This continues a trend of the past 5 years. Continue reading

Services held for Scott L. Hall, 55

Scott L. Hall, 55, passed away at his residence, after a heroic battle with cancer on Friday, March 27, 2015, while surrounded by the loving care of his family and friends.

He was born in Utica, on December 15, 1959, a son of Wilfred Scott and Myrna Lindsay Hall. Scott grew up in Old Forge and graduated from Town of Webb High School. Mr. Hall was employed by Hubbell Companies of Margaretville, NY, for many years as a Golf Course Shaper, building golf courses around the world. He was of the Catholic faith.   Continue reading
