Christmas Sing-Along & Soup Supper set at Niccolls

Niccolls Church’s Fellowship Hall will be the setting for a Community Sing-Along of Christmas carols and popular Christmas songs on Saturday, December 6.

All are invited to ‘come a-caroling’ in this songfest starting at 4 p.m. that will be followed by a supper of soups, breads, beverages and desserts provided by friends and neighbors in the Central Adirondack area.  Continue reading

Small Business Administration recognizes Adirondack Bank among year’s top lenders

The Syracuse District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration announced on November 6 that Adirondack Bank was once again named the top small community lender in Central New York.

The bank approved 15 loans totaling $4,000,000, outperforming all other small community lenders with an asset size of less than $1 billion in the Central NY Region.  Continue reading

Adirondack League Club Exhibit: Goodsell Museum Open House set Nov. 30th

The Trustees of the Town of Webb Historical Association invites members and the public to their annual Holiday Open House that will be held Sunday, November 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Goodsell Museum.

The Open House will mark the official opening of the featured exhibit, “100,000 Acres of Paradise: The Early History of the Adirondack League Club.”

The exhibit will offer a look into the ALC: its beginnings in 1890 and the club’s commitment to woodland preservation and animal conservation that changed NY State laws and practices. Continue reading

Brakeley/Wall engagement announced

Coach Peter and Dr. Johana “Jody” Kashiwa Brakeley of Middlebury, VT are very happy to announce the marriage engagement of their daughter Dr. Rebecca Miriam Brakeley to Jesse Eilert Wall. Bec & Jesse Engagement Announcment

Dr. Brakeley is a 2000 graduate of Middlebury Union High School and graduated in 2004 from Middlebury College with a degree in Neuroscience.

She earned her Medical Degree in 2009 from the University of Vermont and did her pediatric residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland.  Continue reading

John C. ‘Jack’ Laske, 92, passes away

John C. “Jack” Laske, 92, of St. Petersburg, died November 15, 2014 at Westminster SunCoast Nursing Home. His family was by his side.

He was born March 26, 1922 in Neenah, WI, son of the late Herbert August and Theodora Hansen Laske. He graduated from Carroll College is Wisconsin and McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and was an ordained Presbyterian Clergyman.   Continue reading
