MAC’s Safe Ride to host 90-Miler breakfast

MAC’s Safe Ride will host a hot breakfast buffet at the Old Forge Fire Hall prior to the start of the 90-Miler Canoe Classic on Friday, September 5th.

The breakfast will be held from 6 to 8 a.m. and the cost is $10 per person.

All proceeds will benefit MAC’s Safe Ride, a free alternative night-time transportation service that serves the Old Forge area.

‘Piece of Heart’ exhibition to open at Old Forge Library on Friday, Sept. 5

An Opening Reception for the Pieces of Heart UCP Art Exhibit will be held at the Old Forge Library on Friday, September 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. Jeff Derr #206 22 x 34 (2).

The opening will be held in conjunction with the town-wide First Friday Art Walk.

Pieces of Heart is a creative expression program of Upstate Cerebral Palsy that features artistic works in a variety of media.

The agency’s multi-talented individuals who create these artworks have one thing in common—they are all people with differing abilities.  Continue reading

Death of a Salesman: View to host Pendragon production on Sept. 8th

Pendragon Theatre will present a production of the 1949 Pulitzer prize-winning play, Death of a Salesman, at VIEW on Monday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are still available for the drawing for a Jasmine Dreadnought Guitar that will be held at George’s Liquors on Route 28 in Old Forge on Monday, September 1st.

The guitar, donated by Mountain Music owners Al and Izzie Worthen, will be raffled at 2 p.m., with all proceeds directed to Old Forge resident Lucy Walker to assist with medical costs related to treatment she has been receiving for the past five months. Continue reading
