Inlet Wastewater District: Town Board appoints Don Haehl as plant’s operator

Don Haehl was recently named Plant Operator in Training for the new wastewater treatment plant and collection system in Inlet which is scheduled to be up and running near the end of June.

At the Inlet Town Board meeting held on Tuesday, April 9, a resolution was passed to allow Haehl to be trained at the Town of Webb Wastewater Treatment Plant at no cost, per a signed agreement between the two towns.

Inlet Supervisor John Frey said Haehl will be trained at the Town of Webb facility for at least six months, at a designated amount of hours in order to fulfill the regulatory requirements.

Frey said that once the plant opens, the town will contract with a licensed operator to oversee Haehl while he continues his training.

With the assistance of CAP-21, Frey said the town is working with the Regional Economic Council to receive funding that will allow for extending the district towards The Wood’s Inn. Continue reading
