Adirondack Bank accepting letters of interest in charity tourney funds

The Adirondack Bank Charity Golf Classic is scheduled at the Thendara Golf Club for Monday, June 10 and the Charity Selection Committee is seeking letters of interest from local non-profit organizations that would like to be considered as recipients of funds from the charitable event.

Requests from 501(c)3 not-for-profit organizations are eligible for consideration.

Organizations should submit a short letter, include the group’s nonprofit tax ID number, state their main mission, the segment of the community they serve, and the specific purpose for the funds requested. Continue reading

Caregiver support training starting on April 24th

On Wednesday, April 24, Linda Manzo of the Alzheimer’s Association will conduct a training session for those interested in becoming, or being involved with, caregiver support group facilitators.

The session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the large fellowship hall at Niccolls Memorial Church on Crosby Boulevard.

To assist with organization, those interested in participating should email Manzo at lmanzo@alz.org and Wende Carr at swimmerwende@gmail.com.

Handouts and refreshments will be provided. Those attending should use the church’s rear entrance and go through the doors to the right, at the end of the long hall.

Inlet Historical Society starts capital campaigns

Work on the Inlet Historical Society’s new building on Route 28 in downtown Inlet will begin in the next month and, to assure a successful opening of the building, members of the historical organization are moving forward with two capital campaigns.

In the first campaign, The 400 Club, the society is seeking a donation of $25 from 400 individuals or businesses which will be used for the purchase of windows and doors.

The second campaign is the raffle of an ELIE Sound Kayak. Tickets are available for $10 each or three for $25 and are currently available at the Inlet Information Office or from Historical Society members.

Anyone interested in donating towards the 400 Club Fund Drive can send a tax-deductible check to: The Inlet Historical Society, P.O. Box 473, Inlet, NY 13360.

New members are always welcome. Dues are $15 for individuals, $20 for households and institutions, and $50 for contributing and sustaining memberships. Fees can be sent to the above address.
