A fire from a failed pole insulator caused a power outage along the Route 28 corridor from Alder Creek to Raquette Lake on Tuesday, January 26, according Virginia Limmiatis, a spokesperson for National Grid.
The outage, which effected approximately 5,800 customers, occurred at approximately noon with power fully restored to the area by 7:30 p.m.
It marked the second time in seven weeks that the area suffered a significant outage due to equipment failure. Continue reading
