Teams are being formed and donations are being collected online or by those who will be participating in the walk.

This year’s event is dedicated in the memory of Lorraine Stripp, a longtime resident of Old Forge who succumbed to the disease on July 31, 2011.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Inlet Town Hall building in Arrowhead Park and the walk starts at 10 a.m.

Participants will follow the sidewalk to the Inlet Volunteer Hose Co. Fire House where it will meet up with the new Townsend Trail that leads to Drake’s Inn, then return to Arrow-head Park.

Following the walk there will be music, food and a Chinese Auction.

Online donations can be made to www.alz.org

Donations will also be accepted on the day of the event.

Anyone who makes a donation of $25 or more will receive a commemorative Memory Walk visor. You must be present to receive it, however.

Shirts, pins and bracelets will also be available. Thank you for your Support which funds the local RCIL and Alzheimers’ research.
