The Junior and Senior Choruses at the Town of Webb School presented their annual Spring Choral Concerts in the school gymnasium on May 29 at 7 p.m.

The program featured a selection of songs currently topping the charts as well as classic favorites from decades past. Under the direction of Valerie Gaudin, the choruses were accompanied by TOW School alumni Phil Leone on drums and Jim Tracy on guitar.

During the concert, Gaudin took some time to acknowledge each of her nine graduating seniors, many of who were vocal students since kindergarten.

“What a strong group they have been—in both the vocal and instrumental departments. They have all brought such a positive energy and outlook to the chorus that hopefully has been contagious. It’s been a wonderful run,” Gaudin said, prior to the concert.

And Gaudin’s graduating seniors were equally as complimentary of her mentorship throughout the years.

“Miss Gaudin is absolutely wonderful, and if you have the chance to be a part of her family in the school, I would do it. Everyone’s there for each other and we’re a family,” said Kody Earl.

“Miss Gaudin is just awesome. I thank her. I’ve had her since I came here in the eigth grade, and I’m really going to miss her,” said Thomas Lindsay.

“Miss Gaudin taught me a lot more than just how to sing,” said Katie Connell.

Vocal students in grades kindergarten through fifth will take to the stage for a performance on Friday, May 31 at 12:30 p.m. “Summertime Celebration” and “Music is the Universal Language” will be the themes of songs performed by students in grades kindergarten through third. The Elementary Chorus will end the program with several songs that will highlight their talent.

There is no admission charge and all are invited to attend.
