Inlet Sewer District work proceeding on schedule

Progress is being made in the construction of Inlet’s new sewer district, according to Don Moshier a representative of Bernier Carr and Associates, P.C., the architectural firm responsible for the project.

Moshier said the actual construction phase is approximately 45 percent complete with approximately 95 percent of the concrete foundations poured, completed, and backfilled.

Weather permitting, Moshier said, the mason’s are scheduled to mobilize next week with plans to start laying block on Monday, November 26.

“Once that block work is up ten feet high it’s ready for wood trusses,” he said, “and the wood trusses have already been submitted and approved so we are on track with that.”

It is his hope to have the masonry walls up before the first of December.

This will enable the contractors to work straight through the winter with hopes to connect customers to the district next spring.

He also said they would like to have the five grinder pumps installed this year as water levels are currently low, which aids in the process.

According to Moshier the project is on schedule and, weather permitting, will be completed on time.

Other contractors involved in the project include general contractor Hubbard Construction, Spencer Electric, and and Lutz Mechanical of Inlet.
