Adirondack Scenic Railroad adds extra run of popular Santa Train

The Adirondack Scenic Railroad’s Santa Train will provide trips from Thendara Station to Otter Lake and back on Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24, and Saturday, December 1.

Santa Train trips will depart from Thendara Station at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

Mrs. Claus will be on board and young passengers and their parents will be treated to stories and games along the way.

Upon return to the station, Mrs. Claus will escort everyone across the street to Candy Land at the Thendara Town Hall, where the children will meet Santa Claus, enjoy hot chocolate and other goodies, and play a wide variety of classic games.

The hall will be festively decorated for the holidays, much to the delight of children of all ages. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 2 to 12, and free for children under the age of two.

Reservations are suggested, however walk-ups are welcome.

Shuttle bus service will be available to transport passengers into the Old Forge village to enjoy the many Adirondack Christmas on Main Street activities.

According to Adirondack Scenic Railroad Foreman Don Chaurdruc, for a limited time special discount tickets for the Santa Trains are available to Adirondack residents. Tickets are $10 each when purchased on-line through November 19.
