Sudden Death Win: Webb Boys advance to Section 3 Soccer Finals

The Town of Webb Boys Varsity Soccer team defeated Lyme Central School in a sudden death period of the Section 3 Class D-2 semi-finals on Tuesday, October 30 at the Lowville Academy Field.

Tor Kristian Ruud scored the winning goal during the 103rd minute of play. His corner kick was assisted by a sideline throw from Austin Down, bringing the final score to 2 to 1.

Cy Barkauskas, who was assisted by West Tickner, scored the Eskimo’s first goal at the 45-minute mark.

The only goal made by Lyme was made in the second half of the game with just over six minutes to go. Neither team scored during the 15-minute overtime session.

The top-seeded Eskimos have a 13-1-2 record this year and will now go on to play  number two seeded Faith Heritage in the Section 3 Class D-2 Finals on Saturday, November 2.

The game will take place on the Camden High School field at 3:15 p.m. following Poland Central School’s final which begins at 1 p.m.
