Raquette Lake voters approve school budget

The Raquette Lake School budget passed 32 to 4 with 94% of voters voting in favor of the budget, on Tuesday, May 15th.

The proposed budget called for appropriations of $264,814, a 0.94 percent decrease from the previous year.

The estimated tax levy will be $139,870, which reflects a zero percent change.

The Library Resolution was also passed with 30 yes votes and 6 no votes.

Board of Education member James Kammer was re-elected to another five-year term, receiving 34 of 36 votes cast.

Tom Beckingham and Elizabeth Noonan each received one write-in vote.

According to Mitchell H. Edelstein, Raquette Lake School District Clerk, there were 32 voters on the poll list along with four absentee ballots, for a total of 36 votes cast.
