The Town of Inlet would like to say Thank You to all those who made the 10th Annual Frozen Fire & Lights a great success!

At Fern Park, donuts were enjoyed around the fire tended by “Inlet’s Newest Fulltime Resident – Forever!”

The sledding hill was a very popular spot, and the ski trails were enjoyed by many.

The Inlet Public Library had many visitors stop in for their book sale. The Inlet Youth Commission had a nice turnout for their Noah’s Ark Animal Workshop held at the Inlet Town Hall.

Around 5:30 p.m. people started gathering around the huge bonfire at Arrowhead Park, where free hot cider, donuts and Zweigle’s hot dogs were served.

Promptly at 7 p.m. the wonderful display of fireworks by American Fireworks of Utica began. A spectacular display of colorful lights and explosions lit up the sky for the many spectators gathered around the bonfire and out on the lake.

Following the fireworks, some wandered over to Matt’s Draft House at Screamen Eagle for Wine & Chocolate Sampling.Thank you so much to Gregg Rudd for the wonderful snow sculpture in front of the town hall at Arrowhead Park. It was the subject of many photos over the weekend. And thank you to the Inlet Highway Department for piling the “fresh” snow for him to work with.

The 404th MP Sled

The Second Annual Cardboard Sled Race was a huge success with 32 entries this year! Awards were handed out to four sleds: M & J Ace Truck piloted by Melissa Hoffman and Joseph Townsend of Inlet won “Best in Show”; 404th MP piloted by Robby Hughes of West Sand Lake and Dylan, Mackenzie and Raigan LaPorte of Eagle Bay also took home “Best in Show”; Bobsled USA piloted by Collin Fitzgerald of Geneva took home the “Great Spirit” award; and QE2 piloted by Quinn Orsini of Schenectady took home the “Fastest” sled award.

Thank you to Dennis Hudson and James Carnell for manning the starting line at the top of the Fern Park sledding hill. Fun was had by all, and we will definitely do this again next year!
