Inlet to host Frozen Fire & Lights celebration on Saturday, Feb. 25th

All things winter will be celebrated at the annual Frozen Fire and Lights event in Inlet on Saturday, February 25.

Event activities will take place at Fern and Arrowhead Parks and throughout the village, and will wrap-up with a bonfire and fireworks in the evening.

The Inlet Public Library will host a Book Sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A bonfire will be lit at 10 a.m. at Fern Park, where outdoor enthusiasts can warm themselves after enjoying free ice skating, the cross-country ski and snowshoe trails, and sledding. Ice skate, snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals are available locally.The second annual Cardboard Sled Races will kick-off at 1 p.m. and all are invited to create a sled made simply of cardboard and tape.

The Inlet Youth Commission will host a Noah’s Ark Animal Workshop at the Inlet Town Hall from 2 to 4 p.m. where children can make their own stuffed animals.

Throughout the day outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy free ice skating, cross country ski and snowshoe trails, and sledding at Fern Park.

A bonfire will be held at Arrowhead Park at 5 p.m. where folks can enjoy complimentary hotdogs and cocoa.

An inaugural Kazoo Band Concert will begin at 6:30 p.m.around the bonfire. Kazoos are currently available for pick-up at the Inlet Information Office so participants can begin practicing. A fireworks display will follow at 7 p.m.

Matt’s Draft House at Screamen Eagle will present Wine and Chocolate Sampling after the fireworks.

The Frozen Fire and Lights event is made possible by the Town of Inlet, the Inlet Area Business Association, the Central Adirondack Association, and a tremendous amount of local support.
