Letter to the Editor: I keep hearing about all this hate, but so far have yet to witness any

A Letter of Response to Ken Thibado:

“Extreme” “Hate Filled” “Homophobic”… Wow.

I again read with wonder and awe an article written by Ken Thibado where he attempts to somehow compare the XFL with the “hate filled” FOX News Network and the extremist Tea Party.

I wonder how he has come to the point in his life where he hates a news organization for telling the truth, and I am in awe that he may actually believe what he is saying.

Let’s talk for a moment about the “extremism” of the Tea Party.

While I don’t consider myself a Tea Party member, I have attended several of their rallies in an attempt to understand their view and I must say I concur with most of their beliefs.

Considering the path which our Federal and State governments have been taking the past several years with spending, taxation and regulation, someone had to speak up.

Where does the “extremism” come in?

Is it “extreme” to want a smaller, more efficient and responsive government?

How about wanting your government to spend less of your money on “pork barrel” projects; is that “extreme”?

Less taxes, protection of our national borders, a balanced budget, following the Constitution, wow… talk about “extreme” positions.

Like I said, I’ve been to Tea Party rallies. I’ve even been to Glen Beck’s rally in Washington D.C. Somehow I must have missed the “screaming, face painting throngs” of “homophobic and conspiratorial” radicals that Mr. Thibado feels permeate these rallies.

What I did see were people, young and old, all races, all genders, and all concerned about the future.

No obnoxious behavior, no racism, no bad behavior of any kind and no litter. Try that with ANY “leftist” rally.

Let me go out on a limb here and assume that Mr. Thibado was an individual who bought into that hope and change thing and voted for President Obama.

Perhaps, after almost three years of presidential ineptness, he may still actually believe that the President is doing a good job.

Well… if that is the case, someone needs a reality check.

In my humble opinion, the one and only good thing that came out of the election of Obama was the Tea Party. If Obama had not been elected there would be no Tea Party and everything would be status quo in Washington.

Like it or not, the Tea Party has changed the political landscape and will for many years to come.

For that, Mr. Thibado, you have my heartfelt thanks.
