Town of Webb Justice Court receives $15K assistance grant

Justice Patrick Venetz was recently notified by the Chief Administrative Judge for the Fifth Judicial District, Hon. James C. Tormey, that Webb Town Court has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the New York State Justice Courts Assistance Program (JCAP).

JCAP was established in 1999 to help enhance courtrooms in the communities.

JCAP grants are provided to town and village courts who apply “for any purpose having as its end enhancement of the Justice Courts’ ability to provide suitable and sufficient services to their respective communities,” according to NYCourts.gov.

Webb Town Court was one of 353 courts receiving JCAP funding this year.

The current Webb courtroom was renovated with JCAP grant money.

Over the years, the court has been able to add new technologies to enhance the courtroom.

This year’s grant money will be used to improve the safety and quality of courtroom furniture, according to Justice Venetz.
