Adirondack natives Nancy Best and Mathew Capron have recently released another children’s book, Pepper the Dragonfly, the second installation in their Adirondack Bug Adventures series. Their first collaboration was the book, Anna the Spider.

Best wrote the text and Capron provided the 18 illustrations in the book which is geared for early to young readers.

Each illustration includes a hidden star and heart for children to identify.

Layout 1Pepper the Dragonfly is about an adventurous dragonfly who hits a bump in the road, but with help from a couple of neighbors he is up and flying again soon.

Best said the book is dedicated to her late older brother, Philip Earl “Pepper” Pulling, who she shared a series of adventures with while growing up.

“We spent time together in the hospital back in 1954. We fought tuberculosis together and we both won the battle…but we lost him when he was only 26 years old,” she said.

Capron currently resides in Raleigh, NC and Best now lives in Central New York.

Both of their books are available at the Old Forge Hardware in Old Forge, The Canal View Cafe in Sylvan Beach, The Full Moon Reflections Art Gallery and Gift Shop in Camden and through Best’s website: www.nancydidit.com.
