Webb Police Dept. reports recent law enforcement activity

The Town of Webb Police Department has reported the following recent law enforcement activitity.

A 25-year-old Bridgeport, NY man was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Unreasonable Speed, Crossing Hazard Markings, Inadequate Head-lights, No Front License Plate, and Failure to Keep Right on Thursday, February 25 at 10:30 a.m.

According to the report, Town of Webb Police Department concluded an investigation into a one-car property damage accident that occurred February 20, 2016 at 9:20 p.m. on State Route 28.

Investigation determined that the man was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and struck guardrails causing damage.

The Town of Webb Police located the man’s vehicle with heavy front end damage unoccupied in an Old Forge parking lot.

The man turned himself into police several days later and was issued appearance tickets for the above charges returnable to Town of Webb Court at a later date. The New York State Police and Morin’s Towing assisted.

A 19-year-old Thendara, NY man was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana on Saturday, February 27 at 2 a.m.

According to the report, an investigation into an underage drinking party resulted in the arrest of the defendant for the above charge.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Webb Court at a later date.

A 22-year-old Oswego, NY man was charged with Criminal Nuisance in the 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct on Sunday, February 28th.

According to the report, on the evening of Friday, February 26, 2016 the Old Forge Volunteer Fire Department and Town of Webb Police Department were requested to The TOW Bar located on Main Street in the hamlet of Old Forge for a reported gas leak.

It was also reported that multiple patrons and employees were feeling ill, shortness of breath and vomiting.

After evacuating the bar all utilities were checked by the fire department and no problem was found.

The Town of Webb Police continued their investigation and found that the named defendant had intentionally and recklessly discharged a canister of pepper spray in the bar.

The pepper spray was sprayed on the wall inside the bar.

The suspect was located at a party on Pullman Avenue and subsequently arrested for creating a condition which endangered the safety and health of a considerable amount of people.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Webb Court at a later date.
