Former Thendara Golf Club Professional David Edward Geiger, 72, passes away

David Edward Geiger, 72, of The Villages in Florida passed away peacefully on February 18, 2016.

Dave, son of the late Mary and Fred Geiger, is survived by his wife Kimberly Fischer Geiger of The Villages; his sons Michael and Brad (Beth) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his brothers Steve (Mary Jane) of Endwell, NY, Tommy of Oxford, NY and John of Tampa, FL; his nephews and niece Chris (Margie), Jim (Dawn) and Michelle Heyman (Matt).

Dave was born in Elmira, NY and graduated from Union Endicott High School. He was a well known golfer in the Endicott area and enjoyed the 19th Hole as well.

Dave earned the PGA Class A Professional designation and is a lifetime member of the PGA.

Dave was co-head golf professional at the IBM Country Club for 25 years and head professional at Thendara Golf Club in Old Forge, NY until he retired in 2005 when he and Kim relocated to The Villages.

Dave married Kimberly Fischer on the Island of Kauai on February 2, 1990 where they made lifelong and cherished friends during their annual vacations.

He made many wonderful friends in New York, Hawaii, Florida and everywhere he visited during his lifetime.

At Dave’s request, there will be no services. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
