The Central Adirondack Association (CAA) would like to thank everyone who came out to support Old Forge’s Winter Carnival the weekend of February 5, 6 and 7th.

A big thank you to the organizing committee who every year comes up with a theme and makes sure the event goes off to the best of their ability: Chairman Nick Bankert, Diane Heroux, Lynda Kellogg, Tim Foley and Felicity Davey.

The Ice Castle Masters really outdid themselves this year making one of our biggest castles to date without much snow from Mother Nature to work with: Dale Heroux, Brian Schoen, Mark and Ben Hannah, Jeff Mahoney, Jim Williams, Ben Cohen, Dave, Kevin and Ethan Kress, Tim Manion, Brian Bamberger and Alex Ross.

It’s great to see a new generation of volunteers step up and provide the hard work and dedication that is needed to keep this local tradition going.

Thanks to castle decorators Windy Kelley and Elisha Pylman.

Steve Uzdavinis and the McCauley Mountain staff had the mountain in great shape and made sure Winter Carnival guests enjoyed all that the mountain has to offer.

Thanks to the Central Adirondack Kiwanis for their annual Winter Sports Challenge, to Diane Heroux and the Polar Bear Ski Club for their annual Snowflake Derby and the Town of Webb UFSD Junior Class for their annual cardboard sled race.

Kurt Gardner of Adirondack Mountain Productions did an awesome job of taking spectacular photos throughout the weekend. (Check some of them out on Old Forge’s facebook page.

Special thanks to Gary Staab for being this year’s commentator. Huge kudos to all the parade participants including past royalty… and last but never least this year’s king and queen, Chris and Diane Gaige.
