Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to return to Inlet for fifth year

by Marianne Christy

The Fulton Chain of Lakes Performing Arts Council, Inc. will bring the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to Arrowhead Park in Inlet for the fifth consecutive year on Friday, July 29.

The 7:30 p.m. performance will be preceded by a free childrens’ concert under the tent from 3 to 4 p.m.

Plans for a fundraising Cocktail Party, usually set for the same day from 4 to 7 p.m., has not yet been finalized, according to FCLPAC Director Jerry Dupuis.

Dupuis said FCLPAC has also filed the requisite application with the U. S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum for a repeat appearance by the Division’s Marching Band, on Sunday, July 31 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Confirmation of their appearance will not be known until May.

In an effort to expose more young people to the live orchestra experience, FCLPAC has initiated a new admission program that will be open to high school students in their junior and senior years, as of September 2016, in the Town of Webb, Long Lake and Indian Lake School Districts.

Students at these three area schools will be admitted free of charge upon presentation of a valid, school-issued pictorial ID. Each student will receive a single ticket.

Those accompanying the students can purchase either a general admission ticket for $30, or a youth ticket (ages 19 and younger) for $15.

Eligible tudents may pre-order their tickets and tickets for those in their company, by calling the Inlet Information Office at (315) 357-5501. Payment for tickets at the concert venue can be made by cash or check only. Credit cards are not accepted.
