Service held for Devere L. ‘Dutch’ Vandervort, 91

RDC073826-1_20160202Devere L. “Dutch” Vandervort, 91, of Burnsville, MN, formerly of Old Forge, NY, San Diego, CA and Tomah, WI, passed away on February 1, 2016.

Dutch retired from Eastman Kodak after a distinguished career of 30-plus years.

He was an active and committed volunteer at VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge. Most recently he sat on the By Laws Committee in 2010-11; many of his suggestions were implemented. He was a generous donor, making gifts to name the Vandervort Gallery and the Executive Director’s office in memory of his daughter Susan. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail; daughter, Susan (Thomas) Ladner and brother, Glenn Vandervort. He is survived by his grandchildren, Tammy Ladner, Robert (Shilo) and Scott (Jennifer) Ladner; eight great grandchildren; sister, Laura (Hal) Wahl; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held February 9, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Tomah, WI 54660.
