Paul Giessler

Paul R. Giessler, 55, of Old Forge and formerly of Waterloo, NY passed away unexpectedly at his business on Sunday, January 24, 2016.

He was born on July 4, 1960 in Lyons, NY a son of the late Otto and Adrienne (Dapolito) Giessler. He was a graduate of Herkimer County Community College.

Paul was retired from the Town of Webb School and was currently the owner/operator of Mr. G’s Soup Garden in Old Forge.

He was a member of Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church in Old Forge where he once served as a Deacon of the Church.

Paul was an avid sports enthusiast who was a fan of the Miami Dolphins. He also enjoyed cooking; he loved his community, family and friends. He will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his adored five-year-old son Carson, his best friend and companion Aimee Haring, a sister, Dianne (Peter) Stancampiano.

He also leaves his cherished friends, Vickie and Brian Smith, many aunts, uncles and cousins and a loving and supporting community.

He was predeceased by his parents, Otto Giessler and Adrienne Dapolito Giessler, also his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 29 at 2 p.m. at the Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church 228 Crosby Blvd. in Old Forge, NY, with the Rev. Lawrence Bartel officiating.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday at the church two hours prior to the service from 12 to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers please consider donations to benefit his son Carson. Please make donations payable to Dianne Stancampiano at 31 East River Dr. Phoenix, NY 13135. Envelopes will be available at the service.
