Participants of SHARP, the Senior Health, Activities & Recreation Program in Old Forge, are kicking off the new year with a variety of activities.
At our gathering on January 6, we tapped into our creative sides by sharing our favorite poems—original or otherwise—and works of art. We also did chair exercises.
One of our favorite guest instructors is Kathy Queen who is delightful and volunteers her time to do chair yoga with us.
The movements make us feel good and help us to relax. Following this fun activity, Kathy often stays and has lunch with us, before we begin our afternoon activity.
On January 20th, join us for chair yoga with Kathy Queen. After lunch, we will play a trivia game.
On January 27th, we will celebrate Chinese New Year. Come to see how we do it SHARP style!
Each week, we also offer puzzles, pitch and other games.
SHARP is a free program offered to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake.
We meet at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday.
Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Community Health & Wellness Fund (formerly the Town of Webb Health Center Fund.)
