The Reverend Frederick G. Reed, 86, passed away November 3, 2015 at his home in Gloucester, VA.
He was born on September 11, 1929 in Old Forge, NY, son of Frank and Mary (Winifred) Reed.
He graduated from high school in 1947 and served in the Air Force from 1948 until 1952.
Reverend Reed graduated from Centre College of Ken-tucky in 1958 and Louisville Presbyterian Seminary in 1961 and was ordained a Presbyterian Minister.
He served in a number of churches during his long career.
He was a spiritual shepherd and a Christian gentleman with a humble soul.
He was a loving and faithful pastor to Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church in Hayes, VA and enjoyed singing in the choir.
Reverend Reed dearly loved his family and was so proud of them. Through his example, he was an inspiration to all and will be lovingly remembered.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Sally Jane Demuth.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Reed; children, Anne Zara, Richard Reed, Patricia Howard and Rebecca Reed; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held November 7, 2015 at Groves Memorial Presby-terian Church. Interment with military honors followed the services.
