FALL
by Betty Harwood
Her flamboyant spring is over
Still her brilliant colors excel
Now her radiance is on the ground
As testimony that fall fell
The season for me was too short
And I for one am sorry
But what a tribute to the Master’s plan
To end in a blaze of glory
I Fall
by Betty Harwood
A week of raking leaves
Still no end in sight
I fall into bed and
Dream about my plight
With blisters on my hand
And more blisters on my feet
Till a sudden gust of wind
I submit to defeat
Joyce Kilmer may never see
A poem as lovely as a tree
These goldarn maples
Sap my energy
