Thanks for support of Old Forge Firefighters Drill School

The Old Forge Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank recent donors to their annual fund drive conducted in conjunction with the Firefighters Drill School.

The funds collected during this period support rescue operations and equipment as well as education for volunteers.

In the weeks before “Fire School” committee members contact local business owners in person to offer them a poster welcoming visiting firemen and explaining that much of our equipment and training is not taxpayer funded.

Examples are our heavy rescue truck, rescue squad truck that is used to pull the rescue snowmobile trailer with two sleds, water rescue boat, dive team, wilderness search and rescue and interior fire training.

If we missed you during our solicitations, it is because time ran short. Our members provide rescue service and fire protection on a volunteer basis 24/7 and sometimes our families and jobs demand our attention too.

If you would like to contribute to our efforts you may send your donation to Old Forge Volunteer Fire Department, Box 1170, Old Forge, NY 13420; ATTN: Fire School Rescue Fund.

These businesses supported our efforts prior to and during Fire School Weekend:

Walt’s Diner, 5 Corners Café, Adirondack Railroad, Old Mill, Cedar Mountain Mercantile, Old Forge Liquors, Foley Law Firm, Capron Produce, DiOrios Supermarket, Smith Marine, Hunkin’s Construction, Christy Motel, Feathers and Boughs, Over The Moon Salon, Country Club Motel, Tim Schofield Attorney, Thendara Golf Club, Pine Knoll, Bamboo Chinese Restaurant, Moore and Hart, Forge Motel, Gallery 3040, Herron Realty, Slickers, Moose River Trail, Adirondack Accents, Old Forge Parts, Morin’s Towing and Signs, Adirondack Express, K&K Camping, K&K Lodging, Enchanted Forest Water Safari, Candy Cottage, Naked Moose, North Street Brewery, Mountain Greenery, Adirondack League Club, Billy’s Restaurant, ACE Hardware, TOW Bar, Old Forge Hardware, Frankie’s Taste of Italy.

We could not do it without their generous donation of space and technical support.
