Webb Police Dept. reports recent law enforcement activity

The Town of Webb Police Department has reported the following recent law enforcement activity.

A 60-year-old New Hartford, NY man was charged with two counts of Petit Larceny (Class A misdemeanor) on Tuesday, August 18 at 1:36 a.m.

According to the report, Town of Webb Police Department arrested the man on an arrest warrant issued by the Town of Webb Court for two counts of petit larceny.

The arrest warrant was issued resulting from an investigation into larcenies that occurred on May 21, 2015 in Town of Webb.

Investigation determined that the man entered ACE Hardware Store and stole two Dewalt lithium ion compact batteries and a decorative wooden sign stating, I Didn’t Do It, valued at a total store loss of $136.98.

A short time later, the man entered DiOrio’s Supermarket and stole one package of Duck Dynasty beef jerky, one Eagle Claw extendable back scratcher, one Wilcor extendable bear claw back scratcher and one Wilcor extendable fork valued at a total store loss of $18.96.

The man was taken into custody by New York State Police in Sylvan Beach, following a traffic stop and subsequently turned over to the Town of Webb Police to answer to said charges.

He was arraigned in the Village of Ilion Court and released after posting $2,500 cash bail.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Webb Court at a later date.

A 34-year-old Canastota, NY woman was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd (misdemeanor) and Use of Vehicle Without Interlock Device (misdemeanor) following an incident that occurred on Monday, August 17 at 12:40 p.m.

According to the report, Webb Police responded to Fastrac in Old Forge for a dispute involving the defendant.

The defendant was observed operating a motor vehicle.

Further investigation revealed the defendant had a suspended license and an ignition interlock device restriction. Charges are returnable to Webb Court at a later date.

A 25-year-old male international summer employee from Czech Republic was charged with Assault 3rd Degree (Class (A) misdemeanor) on Friday, August 14 at 6:50 p.m.

According to the report, the arrest of the man by Town of Webb Police resulted from an investigation into an assault that occurred on Friday, August 13 at approximately 4 a.m at the Enchanted Forest Water Safari Employee Housing located at 244 North Street, Town of Webb.

Investigation determined that while the man was involved in a fight, he threw a metal chair striking a 23-year-old male victim in the face causing a temporary loss of consciousness, a broken tooth and a laceration to the lip requiring medical treatment.

He was processed at the Town of Webb Police Department and issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Webb Court at a later date.
