Friends of Old Forge Library announce 2015 BASH prize winners

The Friends of Old Forge Library wish to extend our thanks to all who participated in our annual fundraiser “The Library BASH.” We were amazed at the wonderful selection of donations to our raffle from artists, craftspersons, and businesses.

The following is a list of the lucky winners:

• Theresa Wegman, Old Forge won a hand-carved Chicka-dee #2 by Bob Zimmerman

• Linda McVeigh, Tallahas-see, FL won a Mani/Pedi from “Over the Moon Salon”

• Carol Cala, Eagle Bay won the painting “Western Autumn” by Paula Ford

• Diane Mulvihill, New Hartford won a Wooden Bowl/Plate by Phyllis Tipper

• Suzanne Firsching won the “Kate and her Cat” sculpture by Joni Dyer

• Kathy Riehle, Old Forge won the Children’s Book Collection & Chair w/Bunny

• Cathy Trevett won the painting of a fawn by Cheryl McCarley

• Catherine Miller “Under the Sea” fabric art by Sue Ross

• Marilyn Graham, Old Forge won the photo of Bald Mt. Pond by David Patterson

• Tom Ryan, Old Forge won the Table Top Oil Lamp Centerpiece from 3040 Main St.

• Hazel Dellavia, Old Forge won a Rail & River Pass for four from Tickner’s River Tours

• Anne Garbarino won a crocheted baby blanket by Sandra White

• Beth Pashley, Old Forge won a “Nature’s Wilderness” kit from Crazy Moose Quilt Shop

• Wende Carr won Christmas Stockings – Fabric Art by Claire Oehler

• Linda Keener won “Birds on Slate” painted by Tim Dewolf-Smith and donated by Winnie McCarley

• Winnie McCarley won a Loon Tote/Handbag by the Pointed Pine Quilters

• Barbara Getty won the “Maine Moose” photo by Sue Kiesel

• Marion Oswald, Old Forge won Greens Fees & Cart for two from Thendara Golf Club

• Candy Meeker, Florida won the “Wintertide” needlework by Annette Eyre

There were three multiple winners: Joan Palmer, Whites-town – Mixed Metal Bracelet by Jessica Meeker-Stewart and two Enchanted Forest/Water Safari passes; Karen Lee, Inlet – Handwoven Ladies Purse by Sharon Petrides of Briarpatch Weaving & Crafts, and “Bald Mt Fire Tower” painting by Louise Watson; David Weal, Old Forge – Two passes to the Strand Theatre with popcorn & beverage, Hand Carved Chickadee #1 by Bob Zimmerman, and Old Barn print by David Oster donated by the Dellavias.

Donna Zuckert won the cork contest with a winning guess of 297.

Door Prizes consisted of three bottles of wine, two $25 gift certificates to Jack Greco Adirondack Furniture of Inlet, and a floral centerpiece from Mountain Greenery.

Additional thanks to all who donated to the Basket of Cheer.

We were overwhelmed with the generosity of Old Forge Liquors, Van Auken’s Inne, The Steakhouse, The Old Mill, Sisters Bistro, Billy’s Italian Restaurant, The TOW Bar, Tony Harper’s, Five Corners Café, Front Door/Back Door Restaurant and Bar, Slickers, The Tavern of Eagle Bay.

Heather Stafford won the Basket of Cheer and Wine Rack and graciously donated a good portion of wine back to the Library for future events.

A special thank you goes to Old Forge Liquors and Five Corners Café for the tasting wines at the tables and Kate Russell of Mountain Greenery for the lovely centerpiece.

Thanks also to those who donated time, food, and non-alcoholic beverages; as well as the volunteers without whom we could never have done it.

Last but certainly not least, thanks to all who attended and bought tickets; you make the event worthwhile!
