The 6th Annual Inlet Memory Walk was held on Saturday, June 20. The event this year raised funds for both the Alzheimer’s Association and Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville.
Of the $1,271 collected, 60% was directed to Alzheimer’s and 40% went to Sunset Nursing Home to be used by the facility’s events co-ordinator to fund activities for their residents.
Many residents in our area have gone there to live and including them in our event only seemed fitting this year.
Thanks to Roger Lind for the use of golf carts to transport those sho couldn’t walk the distance, Linda Manzo from the Alzheimer’s Association who handed out information on the disease, Herb and Carol Schmid for supplying the hot dogs, and all those who donated items for the Chinese Auction.
We appreciate all who came to “Walk” with us and donated to help find a cure.
The “Garden” we planted with our flowers needs to grow bigger next year, so please mark your calendars for the third week in June and join us.
