Old Forge: Be part of the ‘Cycle Adirondacks’ tour on Aug. 26 & 27

Cycle Adirondacks will roll into Old Forge on Wednesday, August 26 with over 200 cyclists and a support crew who will be headquartered at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street.

Old Forge is the only layover town on this seven-day tour which starts and ends in Saranac Lake.

The group will arrive the afternoon of Wednesday, August 26 and will depart the morning of Friday, August 28.

The public is invited to North Street Recreation Center while the cyclists are in town.

Each evening there is a Beer and Wine Garden with food concessions as well as a free concert by the Woody Pines  both nights at 7 p.m. There will also be a bike stunt demonstration by Sam Perkins.

Town of Webb and the Central Adirondack Association (CAA) will host an information booth at the recreation center, and there is a limited number of free booth spaces for local vendors both evenings from 5 to 8 p.m.

Anyone interested in a booth space can contact Kathy Queen at: KQueen3431@aol.com.

Wildlife Conservation Society is the host of this first fully supported road-bike tour of the Adirondack Park and beyond.

The non-competitive tour allows participants to cruise at their own pace and fully appreciate the Adirondack experience.
