Public welcome to attend Fulton Chain of Lakes Assn. Annual Meeting

The Fulton Chain of Lakes Association (FCLA) will hold its annual meeting at the Woods Inn in Inlet on Friday, August 7.

The annual meeting will be an opportunity for everyone who is interested in the Fulton Chain of Lakes to meet board members, learn more about the FCLA, ask questions, and express ideas and concerns.

The gathering will begin at 6 p.m. with a cookout that will include hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, salads and dessert, live music and a cash bar. Everyone is invited.

The fee is $10 for members and $15 for non-members, which will include a one-year membership to FCLA.

The Woods Inn has a new pavilion and a large dock, so people can come by car or boat.

The Fulton Chain of Lakes Association (FCLA) was founded in 1968 with a mission of protecting the 6.8 billion gallons water of the Fulton Chain of Lakes in New York’s Central Adirondacks.

The water quality in the lakes was very poor at that time. Septic systems were tested, and faulty ones were repaired.

The water quality of the lakes began to improve within a few years. For the past 47 years, FCLA has been active in matters involving both water quality and safe boating on our lakes.

A large part of the organization’s mission is to educate the public on the law regarding the use of fertilizer near the lake, introduction of invasive plant species into the lakes and safe navigation on the water.

FCLA is always looking for people who enjoy these lakes and who want to help protect them for future generations.
