Forestport Food Pantry volunteers attend conference

Volunteers from the Food Pantry at St. Patrick’s Church in Forestport attended the Food Bank of Central New York’s annual conference in May in Syracuse at the Holiday Inn.

The daylong conference offered 12 different workshop sessions on a variety of issues for providing food pantry services and increasing the exposure to healthier food options for food pantry clients.

The conference also featured many displays and information was available from resources in the area that provide additional assistance.

The Food Pantry at St. Patrick’s in Forestport serving Woodgate, Forestport, Boonville and surrounding areas is able to assist families with their emergency food needs as well as some products not covered by Food Stamps/SNAP.

The pantry is open by appointment. For assistance please call (315) 942-4618, extension 105 and leave a message with your unblocked phone number. A food pantry volunteer will call to schedule an appointment.

Volunteers work closely with families to respond to requests while ensuring confidentiality.
