Open letter to Catholic Parishes of Old Forge, Inlet and Raquette Lake:
Greetings and blessings to you. It is with great enthusiasm that the Catholic Parishes of St. Bartholomew’s (Old Forge) and St. Anthony’s (Inlet and Raquette Lake) are continuing to fulfill Bishop LaValleys’s Envisioning Plan.
In his plan, our Bishop is asking every parish to complete a door-to-door census listening to and seeking out the needs of our current parishioners, reaching out, listening and inviting back our inactive parishioners and assuring our support to members of other churches and our community.
It is our hope to reach most, if not all homes within the boundaries of our parishes.
Parish visitation volunteers will be visiting homes during the weeks of July 19 to August 9, 2015.
The volunteers will be wearing an identification tag so that you will know that they are from one of our parishes.
This is NOT a recruiting or “converting” effort, but rather a simple call for us to go out as the Disciples of Jesus whom we are, neighbors among neighbors.
When we come to your door, we ask only for your welcome and perhaps some of your time.
Visiting door-to-door is not an easy task and your kindness is important and appreciated.
