Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herki-mer 4-H Program held a workshop on electricity on Monday, June 29 with a dozen 4-H members participating in hands on activities with simple circuits.

The youths worked in teams to create a simple flashlight using just a battery, bulb, and a piece of wire.

4-H members learned about wiring, lighting, safety issues, and more.

Coral Williams, Fern, Darby, Collin, and Corrine Bick of the Haderondah 4-H Club of Old Forge and Independent 4-H members Eleonore and Natalee Collins, Brogan Graves, James Jr., Keturah, and Elorah Luck and Kendra Shaver participated in the workshop.

Each 4-H member made a Mason jar lamp to take home and display this summer at the Herkimer County Fair.
