The Big Moose Jolly Moosers annual Bake Sale, Crafts and Flea Market will be held on Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Big Moose Fire Hall.
The Fire Hall is located approximately 5 miles from Route 28/Eagle Bay on the Big Moose Road in Big Moose.
The event will take place rain or shine.
Vendors will fill the fire hall with a variety of handcrafted items: baskets, handpainted gourds, lamps, pillows, knitware, jewelry, books, games and “stuff” for the public to purchase.
An assortment of homemade pies, cakes, breads, cookies and more will be for sale at the Bake Sale table.
The Jolly Moosers will sponsor a food tent, offering hot dogs with or without chili, homemade hamburger barbeque sandwiches, candy/snacks, donuts, coffee and drinks which will be open at 9 a.m.
The third annual chicken barbecue hosted by the Big Moose Fire Company will take place adjacent to the Big Moose Fire Hall from 11 a.m. until sold out.
The cost per dinner is $12 and includes 1/2 chicken, corn on the cob, salt potato and drink. Customers can eat-in or take-out.
Advance tickets are not being sold. Funds raised from the chicken barbecue will benefit the Big Moose Fire Company’s general operating funds.
The Jolly Moosers will alsohold a raffle for a Basketful of Adirondack items.
Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased during the event or from a Jolly Mooser up until the time of the drawing.
The drawing will be held at the Big Moose Station Restaurant on Tuesday, August 4 during the Jolly Moosers annual summer dinner.
The winner need not be present to win.
All funds from the raffle will benefit the local food pantries.
Last year’s raffle raised $1,000 that was split between the food pantries at St. Bartholomew’s and Niccolls Churches.
Proceeds raised from the Jolly Moosers Bake Sale, Crafts and Flea Market are also allocated to numerous local groups, fire and rescue companies, etc. in the fall of the year.
The Jolly Moosers of Big Moose have been supporting the local community since 1956.
Over 90 women are members of the Jolly Moosers.
