Kiwanis Food Collection to support local Community Food Pantry

The Webb Community Food Pantry, located at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Old Forge, is always in need of additional non-perishable food items.

The services of the Food Pantry have been in great demand this year and are in need of substantial replenishment.

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks will assist by sponsoring a Food Kart Day on Saturday, July 4.

Kiwanis members and other volunteers will be stationed at DiOrio’s Supermarket and Kinney Drugs in Old Forge and Kalil’s Grocery in Inlet to collect food donations for the Food Pantry.

Volunteers will be in place from 8 a.m. to noon.

As shoppers enter the stores they will be provided with a list of suggested, non-perishable, needed food items.

Shoppers will be asked to purchase an extra item or two and deposit them in the Kiwanis carts as they leave the stores.

At the end of the day, the food items will be delivered to the Webb Community Food Pantry which is coordinated by Father Shane Lynch, at St. Bartholo-mew’s Church in Old Forge for distribution as needed.

If you would like to volunteer to help with this food collection project call event chairman Bill Baumann at (617) 834-1232.
