Otter Lake Community Church: Season’s first service set July 5th

Services will begin at the 154-year-old Otter Lake Community Church with its first service of the season on Sunday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m.

All summer visitors are invited to attend this New York State and Nationally Registered Historic house of worship.

During this worship season there will be special music offered throughout the ten-week season. 

The July 5 service will begin with The Rev. Wilbur Pollock of Pavilion, NY conducting the service and providing Holy Communion.

Rev. Pollock will also conduct the service on July 12th. Rev. Pollock has been conducting services at the Community Church for over 47 years.

Organist June Wellman of Otter Lake will provide the music.

On July 19 and 26, Rev. Damon Gagnier from Dewitt, NY  will conduct the services.

The Rev.’s Garrett and Mary Anderson of Liverpool, NY will provide the sermon on August 2 and 9.

Joining the church services on August 16 and 23 will be the Reverends Jim and Suzi Harriff  and friends from the Syracuse area who will provide the message in word and song.

To end the spiritual celebration for the 2015  season will be Rev. Gary Baker during the weeks of August 30 and September 6.

Rev. Baker will be celebrating Holy Communion during the September 6 service.

Continuing the tradition of celebrating the church’s establishment in Otter Lake a picnic will be held after Church service on August 30.

The Otter Lake Community Church was built in 1861 in Hawkinsville, New York.

It was relocated to its current site in Otter Lake in 1921.

The Church was placed on the New York State and National Registry of Historical Places in 2004.
