The Town of Inlet will host a Bass Derby that will be held Sunday, June 28.
Contestants will fish the waters from Fifth Lake to Old Forge Pond for eight hours in hopes of catching the magic winning weight.
Boats will depart after a livewell inspection from the Inlet town dock in numerical order of their registration, in search of five legal black bass that may earn them cash winnings.
Only artificial baits can be used and each boat is limited to two persons on board.
There is a penalty of one pound for each minute of a late return as well as for each dead fish presented at weigh-in.
Each boat must have some form of livewell and no contestant is allowed to pre-fish the waters after Wednesday, June 25.
Registration is $110 with $10 going to a separate lunker pool for the largest fish of the day.
Cash prizes and plaques will be awarded following the weigh-in which begins at 2 p.m.
The public is welcome to attend the weigh-in and can watch the activities from the town beach.
Weigh-in will be held by the Town Dock and on the boardwalk of the channel between Fourth and Fifth Lakes.
Contestants may launch from the NYS Fourth Lake Boat Launch located in Inlet or Rivett’s Marine in Old Forge.
